Comedians from Chicago's Second City offshoot in Toronto hilariously spoofed TV programming by staging the `highlights' of a fictitious station's typical broadcast day. There were also parodies of movies and news, along with looney backstage shenanigans of the staff of Channel 109 in Mellonville.

After his wife and daughter are killed in a snowbound car accident, classical composer John Russell relocates from New York to Seattle to teach at his alma mater. Looking for a quiet place to rest and continue writing music, he is referred Claire Norman at the Seattle Historical Preservation Society. Claire shows John a large, sparsely furnished estate in the outlying countryside. He takes the house, appreciating its remoteness and the solitude it might afford, and diverts himself by renovating and settling in. He even starts to compose, putting aside his older work in favor of a new, sentimental piece for the piano. It is not long, however, before he begins having nightmares about the accident that killed his wife and daughter. Possibly because of this trauma, he is open to communications from the house's ghostly occupants. Pursuing a loud, repetitive pounding noise in an upper room, he stumbles on the apparition of a young boy drowning in a tub. Working together with Claire, John discovers frightening parallels between this vision and buried events from the house's past.

Actually, the forest is a happy place too, but don’t tell that to the three clueless film students who set off to explore the legend of the evil forest witch. As they blunder lost, alone, and off-panel, a troop of Boy Scouts packing cell phones, lap tops and camcorders head off on a camping trip that one of them plans to turn into a documentary. Meanwhile, the townspeople prepare for what they think will be a windfall from Hollywood people making a movie starring Kevin Costner and Meryl Streep.

In 1899 Tom's parents Sinclair Strong and Susan Strong were shipwrecked on the island of Attabar Teru. Shorty after arriving on the island, Tom was born. Named after the African American Captain of the ship who had brought them there, Tom was treated as if he were a science experiment and was put into a high gravity nursery to be raised by his robotic caretaker Pneuman. He was put on a strict vegetarian diet that had large amounts of Goloka root., a mythical root that the Ozu, natives of the island, believed improved longevity.
When the volcano that Tom and his family had built their home upon erupted, Tom was the only one left alive. Only eight years old, Tom moved in with the Ozu the natives of the island that helped deliver him unto this world during the difficult delivery Susan had dealt with. Growing up on the island to the age of twenty one, he developed various contraptions to aid in the lives of the natives of the island, accomplishing this due to his natural intellect. Eventually, Tom decided to leave with Pneuman to Millenium City where he made his public debut. When he returned, he married an Ozu woman, Dhalua Strong. They later had a daughter whom they named Tesla Strong. The entire family now carries on the crime fighting dynasty Tom has established.
